Success at the 2013 LJK Earlybird AAA Tournament
Over the weekend of September 20th, the LJK Minor Atom AAA team played host to 9 other Minor Atom AAA teams participating in the London Jr. Knight AAA Earlybird tournament.
The Minor Atom Jr. Knights faced tough competition in round-robin play over Friday and Saturday. Hard work, great goaltending, and consistent effort from all players helped the team go undefeated in the first four games.
A win against a tough Whitby Wildcats in the semi-final early Sunday morning lead to re-match a few hours later against a hard-working and persistent Lambton Jr. Sting team.
The gold medal final game against the Lambton Jr. Sting proved to be a great contest with pressure and chances at both ends of the rink. The Jr. Knights managed to hang on for a 2-1 win, going undefeated in the tournament and capturing the title of tournament champs.
