JR KNIGHTS WIN BACK TO BACK GAMES TO ELIMINATE JR STING!
by Scott Gregoul: After a tough 4-3 loss Friday night the Jr Knights hosted the Lambton Jr Sting Sunday night in a win or go home game 5.

The first was back and forth for most of the period until the last 5 minutes when Matt McGhee and Brandon Glover each shot pucks behind the Jr Sting goalie to give the Jr Knights a 2-0 lead after the opening frame. Things stayed that way until the third when the Jr Sting pulled to within a goal just over a minute in. However Glover responded just a minute later to restore the 2 goal advantage.  Ethan Nother and Curtis Ferreira added late goals to give the Jr Knights a 5-1 win.  Ryan Langford stopped 24 of 25 shots for the win in net.

That meant a series deciding game 6 back in Sarnia on Monday night. This was a wild one!

The Jr Knights exploded out of the gate with 3 goals in the opening 5 minutes to jump in front 3-0. The Jr Sting got on the board with 9 to play in the period however the Jr Knights answered right back to make it 4-1. The teams traded goals again before the period ended with the Jr Knights in front 5-2.  The Jr Sting didn't quit however as the added a goal in the second to make it 5-3 for London through forty minutes.  Early in the final frame the Jr Sting pulled to within a goal and things got interesting.  With 13 minutes left on the clock Lambton scored again to tie things at 5-5.  With 8:30min left to play, the Jr Sting appeared to take the lead, however Zack Weir came up with a save that only he knows how he did it to keep things tied.  That proved to be the turning point as a few minutes later the Jr Knights netted the winner with 2:41 to play.  The Jr Knights won the game 6-5 and the series 7 points to 5.  Goal scorers in game 6 were Danny Nickles, Brandon Glover, Curtis Ferreira, Carson Esipu, Preston Hill and Ethan Nother.
