Greetings. I wanted to take a few minutes to set some
expectations around competitive hockey and specifically AA hockey with the LJK
at the Atom AA level.
A few things to consider as you set expectations with your child:
18 forward positions are available with 36 forwards registered for tryouts.
12 defence positions are available with 30 defence players registered for tryouts.
4 goalie positions are available with 12 goalies registered for tryouts.
The Green (#10) and White (#2) teams were both Ontario top 10 teams last season. Numbers 1, 3,5 and 6 were teams that are not AAA centers at the Minor Atom and Atom level (AAA starts at Minor Pee Wee for these teams so they are the BEST 2009 players in their geography). My point is, both of the LJK Atom AA teams are going to be very good and Players should be really proud to both earn a spot and go deep in the tryout process.
Let me be very clear, Jordan and I are going to put the right Players on our respective teams. We are absolutely open to change and making our teams better. The only way change can happen is if Players want it!
Our friend, Rob Drummond has posted two videos on his YouTube Channel that you might find helpful.

Like Rob said, Players need to bring their confidence, best effort and skills to every tryout.
See you Thursday night!
