BRAMPTON REGIONAL SILVERSTICK CHAMPIONS
Congratulations to the players and coaches of the Bantam White team on their Regional Silverstick Championship over the Christmas Holidays.

After a tough start against the Mississauga North Stars, ranked #1 in the province, the team chose to  bounce back with grit and determination.  They got back on track with a come-from- behind, 3-2 victory over league rival Waterloo in game two.

There was no margin for error, as the remainder of the games were elimination games.

The boys held off the Caledon Hawks 3-2 Saturday morning and then the Kent Cobras 5-3 to earn a trip to the semi-finals.

The semi-final game was a rematch with Waterloo and featured stellar goaltending by both teams.  However, the Knights got the only goal they would need midway through the second and tight defensive play by the entire team earned a very hard fought 1-0 win.

The boys faced a very hot Halton Hills Thunder team in the Championship Game.   While the Thunder came out fast and hard, once again, the Knights' goaltending stymied the Thunder, until the Knights tied the game midway through the second at 1-1.

Already down two defensemen at the start of the tournament, and with two more defensemen lost to injury in the second period, the entire team stepped up for their fallen teammates.  After both teams narrowly missed opportunities in the third period, the Knights finally broke through with the Championship winning goal, with 3:21 left in Overtime, leading to a thrilling 2-1 victory.

The weekend was a testament to the word "team", as every player contributed.

One of the team's goals at the very beginning of the season was a Silverstick win.

The team has now earned a spot in the Silverstick Finals, January 23-26 in Port Huron, Michigan.
