2011-2012 Tournament Champions

2011/12 Bell Capital Cup Champions

The Peewee AA Knights headed out to Ottawa for what turned out to be a 6 games in 5 nights tournament.
After finishing first overall in the round robin, the Knights had an exciting quarter final against the speedy
German Eagles which needed to be decided in overtime. A win in the semi finals vs Kanata led to a match up at
the Scotiabank Place vs rival Humberview Huskies. After a great game, the Jr. Knights walked away with a 4-2
win and a tournament championship. The kids played very well despite the non-contact rule which took awhile
to adjust. The thrill of playing in an NHL rink will be a memory not soon forgotten. GO KNIGHTS!

The Atom AA Knights won their second tournament of the season after defeating the
Vaughn Rangers 6-1 yesterday morning.
The Knights went 6-0 over the weekend.

After going 4-0 in round robin play the Knights played the
Macomb Mavericks in the semi-finals.
The Knights won that game with less then two minutes to go in regulation.

It was another exciting weekend of hockey and the boys played great.

Hard work in practice always pays off.

Peewee AA wins the Hickman tournament!
Going into the weekend, our goal is always the same; improve! Although winning is fun, we were
excited to play some AA teams outside of the Alliance, namely the number 3 Ontario ranked Markham Islanders.
We had some good games against Toronto East Enders, West Mall, Vaughn and Etobicoke
but we still finished 2nd overall to Markham by mere percentage points. Upon beating the
Duffield Devils 4-1 in the semi-finals, we got our wish to play Markham in the finals.
This match up was important to us to see where we stood against an elite team.
This game was fast and full of excitement. Even with all the posts and opportunities,
we managed to shut down the high offense of the Islanders for a 2-0 win.
It was a full team effort from start to finish with some great goaltending.
The game was not dirty and all players showed respect for each other and the game itself.
Afterwards we took a team photo with Markham as a reminder of a great final to the
2011 Hickman Tournament.
Congratulations to the Peewee AA Jr. Knights on a great weekend resulting in a championship from hard work.

Minor Atom AA wins Vaughan Earlybird!
We started off the tournament Friday morning against the Mississauga North Stars.
Close game but unfortunately we had to finish the last 5 minutes of the game down two men.
On the 5 on 3 the Stars scored with just over a minute left to win 2-1.
Game 2 had us against the Duffield Devils.
We regrouped and played a hard fought match and came out with a 2-1 win. Game 3 was do or die.
We went up against the Humberview Huskies. We were up 2-0 with just over 4 minutes to go.
We got word that Duffield just beat Mississauga so now we had to win by 3 to come out of the division
and advance due to the GFA tie breaker. With our goalie out, we were able to score three times in 3
and a half minutes to come out on top 5-1 and advance to the semi's. In the semi final game we beat
Humber Valley Sharks in a 4 on 4 overtime win
4-3 to advance to the finals

Finals- we faced the Flamborough Sabres and we held them off for a 2-0 championship win.

Peewee AA win the Huskies tournament!!!
After a disappointing quarter final exit in the Mississauga Early Bird,
the Humberview Huskies Tournament was a chance at redemption, and we got it big time.
Allowing one goal the whole tournament, we beat Humberview, Oakville, West Mall,
Nepean and Ottawa Valley to take home our first tournament championship!
