The Mike Ikeno Memorial Hockey Fund
Submitted By Webmaster on Sun 10 30, 16
The Mike Ikeno Memorial Hockey Fund was established during the summer of 2016 to help families of that may require financial assistance to play hockey in London.  Mike believed that every kid should have a chance to play the game that he loved so much at the level suitable to their skill level.

On the weekend prior to Mike’s birthday, the Mike Ikeno Memorial Hockey Fund was able to financially assist 3 families within the LJK organization with funds to help them offset some of their costs of playing on their respective London Jr Knight’s teams for the 2016 – 2017 season.  In addition, the Fund in conjunction with London Source for Sports was able to provide one family with a gift certificate to purchase some new equipment for a player.

The intention is to annually continue to assist similar families with sons/daughters playing for the London Jr Knights.  A lot of the current amounts donated to the Fund were gathered at Mike’s funeral and visitation.  A “Go Fund Me” account was subsequently established to enable others wishing to donate to the Mike Ikeno Memorial Hockey Fund to contribute throughout the year.  In addition, annually around the anniversary of Mike’s passing, a fundraiser will be held to raise additional monies to supplement the Fund.  If anyone would like to contribute to the Mike Ikeno Memorial Hockey Fund the link is Gofundme.com and enter Mike Ikeno in the name box.

Also, if you are interested in assisting with the summer fundraiser (to take place at the end of June/early July) please contact Don/Su Ikeno at 519-661-7075 or Paula Ikeno at 519-872-8812.
