Bantam White win the Ajax “Break the Ice” early bird tournament
It was a clean sweep for the LJK 04 White team as they defeated the defending champion and host team, Ajax Knights, 6-2 in a matinee showdown.

The boys started the tournament off strong on Friday morning with a 7-2 win over the Waterloo Wolves.

On Friday evening, the boys ran into some stellar goaltending, managing to squeak by with a 3-2 win despite outshooting Kanata 28-13.  On Saturday morning, the boys played their most complete game of the tournament, routing the 13th ranked team in the province last year (and tournament host) Ajax Knights, 7-0.  Having struggled in the round-robin, the 12th ranked Woodstock Navy Jets (and Knights kryptonite) fell to the 4th seed, setting up an alliance showdown in the quarterfinals.  The game had a frantic pace from the get-go, as this was London’s toughest test, and most intense game of the tournament. The boys were able to Hem Woodstock in their own end for most of the game, outshooting Woodstock 25-14 and gutting out a 4-1 victory.  In the Semi-final, the boys found themselves matched up against another alliance foe, the Waterloo Wolves.  Despite sustaining two injuries (and being two men down the rest of the tournament), the boys controlled the game from start to finish, winning 6-0. Ajax scored with 30 seconds left in their semi-final against Kanata, setting up a rematch with the tournament host. Missing two forwards for the second straight game, the boys seemed unfazed, as they gave up ZERO shots against in the 3rd period, beating Ajax for a second time, 6-2.
