Message from the President

It is with great disappointment that another Provincial lockdown has been imposed that will prohibit all participation in team sports, close arenas and cause all hockey programming to stop until May 2nd.

While disappointed, the London Junior Knights Board supports the decision by our Provincial Health Unit, for the safety of our players/their families, our coaching staff and officials.

The timing of this lockdown aligned with most of our teams coming to the conclusion of their seasons anyway, with the exception of Minor Midget AAA and Midget AAA, who were scheduled to continue throughout the months of April and May.

The Board of Directors met Monday night, and supported a refund for the teams who have completed their season at the end of March, but there is of course conditions.

The following are the required terms of the refund:

  1. All hockey jerseys are to be returned to the team and subsequently returned to our Association.
  1. All jerseys must be washed before return.  Please wash in cold water and return in the jersey bags .  Teams have already received their return schedule.  This should all be completed by April 18th, but may have to change due to the announcement of Stay At Home.
  1. All hockey jerseys and trainers kits are to be returned to the WFSC, to the attention of Jim Vautour on the scheduled time and date given to your team coaches and managers. When this is complete and as long as there is no damage, the sweater deposit will be returned to the team.  The $100 will only be refunded to the personal paid deposit.
  1. Each player who has a personal paid registration (not a subsidized registration), for the full season can expect a $500.00 refund to the team once all the criteria is met.  This is for all teams except Minor Midget AAA and Midget AAA.

Our plan is to start our fall try outs immediately following Labour Day weekend, but please visit our website for all details.  We are also looking to potentially offer some conditioning programs in August, more to come.

At this time I would like to thank the players and their parents, our coaching staff, and our Board of Directors for their continued support of our program.  We know this season was unlike any we have ever experienced before, but it proved to all of us how resilient our players are, and how much they love the game, no matter what form it takes.

We are very excited to see what the new season will bring.  Enjoy your summer, be safe.
