LJK Body Checking Clinic (Open to ALL London Players)

For the 2021-22 Hockey Season - ALL U14 Minor Bantam and U15 Major Bantam players that are planning to PLAY or TRYOUT for Alliance AAA, AA and A teams are required to take an ALLIANCE Recognized Body Checking Clinic.

The London Junior Knights will be hosting a series of Body Checking Clinics that will be open to ALL London Players (GLHA and LJK).

REGISTRATION FOR THE LJK BODY CHEKING CLINIC WILL CLOSE ON AUGUST 19th at 11:59pm. 

The Clinic will include 2 sessions. A 1 hour OFF ICE video session via Zoom and a 1 hour ON ICE instructional session.

REGISTRATION FOR THE LJK GOALIE CLINIC WILL CLOSE ON AUGUST 19th at 11:59pm. 

Get back into mid season form with the London Junior Knights Goalie Clinic delivered by Steve McKichan from Future Pro. You will receive 2 hours of small group on-ice instruction from former Toronto Maple Leafs Goalie Coach, Steve McKichan.

You will be working on positional control, rebound control, puck-handling control, movement and game situation from the goaltending coach who built Jack Campbell’s game for many years.

Hockey Canada Canadian Player Pathway ATOM PREP PHASE Registration Information

Registration for the Hockey Canada Player Pathway - ATOM PREP Phase WILL CLOSE ON AUGUST 21 at 11:59pm. 

Following guidelines by Hockey Canada the London Junior Knights & GLHA are pleased to announce the first phase of the Atom player pathway beginning this season 2021-2022.  The first phase (Prep phase) is a non-mandatory 4 session warm up prior to official evaluations at tryouts.

Who can attend?

Any minor atom / atom player that is eligible for either the LJK or GLHA program.

Why attend?

The prep phase is geared towards players that have not been on the ice on a regular basis and allows them to warm up prior to official tryouts.

Do I have to go?

Players have the option of attending or not, this is not an official tryout and no evaluations will be taking place during these skates by any atom age coaches within the LJK or GLHA program. Regardless of if you attend the Prep phase or not, you will still have to register with LJK or GLHA for the 2021-2022 Season Tryouts as normal.) If not attending the prep phase players will need to register with either the LJK / GLHA for tryouts as usual.

Who will run these sessions?

They will be staffed by independent instructors and current coaches from the LJK/GLHA (no coach from the Atom age group will be involved).  They will be running basic skills/skating drills that are age specific to the atom age group. 

Numbers?

We will be evaluating the numbers based on ice availability and may be subject to change with any restrictions relating to Covid.  We are planning to accommodate all interested players but may restrict goalies up to a max of 16.

This can be done through the link or the one provided on the LJK or GLHA websites.  Players will be contacted in terms of the session they are to attend.

Cost?

The 4 session 4 hour program will be on a revenue neutral basis for both associations and the fee per player will be $55.

Registration will close Sep 5th at 11:59pm. After this date there will be a late registration fee applied to any registrations.

Note: LJK is NO LONGER accepting NRP AA players. U14 Minor Bantam must have completed a mandatory body checking clinic sanctioned by ALLIANCE HOCKEY to participate in tryouts (for 2021-22 this applies to U15 Bantam as well). Goalies are exempt from the body checking clinic

Note: Midget aged players who have not played previously with the London Junior Knights are subject to the full registration fee of $1,627.50.
