A message from Shirley Hickman...
Thank you to all the volunteers who worked for many months and this past weekend to ensure that this tournament went so well for so many young players.
I hope they all learned something from attending, had fun and had a safe drive home.
There is so much positive energy – I hope that family members and coaches realize the most important thing they can teach their children is to win or lose with grace.
Play hard, do your best at everything you do in life, and enjoy the sport for what it is meant to bring into their lives.
There also appears to be a very strong positive memory of Tim during this tournament. The donation from the London Junior Knights this year, will assist us to be able to purchase a special wheelchair for young Nelson, his picture below, to participate in wheelchair basketball. His therapists share with us that he is very capable to learn, participate and develop both developmental and social skills through basketball.
The equipment for all these specialized needs is very expensive and we would not be able to support others without this donation.
This year, through a golf tournament that Tim’s friends organize in June, we are also able to support SARI – Therapeutic Riding with the purchase of special helmets required for this program.
We continue to hear of needs and the organizations or individuals we are able to provide some support to are very thankful.
Have a Safe & Wonderful Day!
Shirley Hickman
