Frequently Asked Questions
The London Junior Knights have always been a top-tiered, highly
competitive minor hockey organization. We’ve managed to do this over the
years while still being highly protective of “London” hockey players.
Historically, our policies have always been geared towards balancing the
development of top-level teams and home-grown talent. The London Junior
Knights remain committed to this philosophy.
Our AAA Program is now fully open. We are excited to welcome outside
talent into our already deeply talented London pool.
Our AA program will remain restricted to London players only, but we are
excited to now include players from Lambeth.
Our AA program will remain tiered, Green and White. This highly
competitive system offers true hockey progression through our levels, with
a robust AP relationship with our AAA teams. As always, we will focus on
developing local talent and moving those players up through OUR ranks.
LJK continues to offer some of the best local, top-end coaching. Many of
our coaches are former LJK players, some with professional, Major A,
NCAA or OUA playing experience.
We remain very proud of all our graduates. Many go on to serve in our
community. We are equally proud of those we watch as they continue to
pursue their hockey dreams (Drew Doughty, Logan Couture, Nick Suzuki,
Nazem Kadri, Jared McCann, Dylan Demelo, Josh Brown and many
others). Many of our graduates also move on to the OHL and/or NCAA
where they continue developing their game and life skills.
From an Organizational standpoint, LJK is proud to subsidize (separate and
apart from our coach-run practice sessions), individual skill development for
skaters and individual goalie development. Our financial commitment to
player and goalie skill development has grown significantly in recent years.
Moving forward, we will remain deeply committed to this initiative.
Our facilities are second to none. Our U16 and U18 teams play on
Olympic-sized ice surrounded by 2000 seats, and our U16 AAA team is
prominently featured on our local Rogers broadcast!
Our teams have automatic inclusion in our top-tiered and always sold-out
tournaments.
We pride ourselves on offering affordable and incredible hockey
experiences to our players and their families. We commit to developing
top-end talent – local and now from outside. The development of a hockey
player begins on the ice and, naturally, extends to the life-long lessons
learned away from the rink through hockey.
We encourage LJK families to stay with us.
At the same time, we’re very pleased to welcome new players
and their families from outside into our program.
