Minor Bantam AA White - Silverstick Regional Champions!

A rocky tournament first game leads to an eventual rematch with a nail biting finish.

The first game of the tournament saw us facing a determined Humbervalley Sharks team. It was only after a hard fought third period and some digging deep that we were able to pull off a late rally and tie the game at 4.

Next up was the Chatham Kent Cobras who after a heart felt presentation were able to keep the game tight and we finished out with a close 3-1 win.

Our final game of round robin was against the Tecumseh Eagles. From the start we could tell everyone was focused on a big victory and the game ended in a 5-0 shut out for us.

On to the semi finals where we faced off against the other pools top seed, the Oakville Rangers. We continued to build our momentum and focus and were able to come out with a 7-2 victory.

All of this lead us to a rematch against a tough Humbervalley club. We started out the game very strong and were able to gain an early lead but Humbervalley wasn't about to give up. We found ourselves in penalty trouble late in the third and with their goalie out the other team was applying immense pressure. We held on and were able to squeeze out a 3-2 win and another tournament championship.

Once again the kids showed their true grit by making into our fourth straight tournament finals and ending it with our third consecutive tournament championship!!

Great job everyone and we look forward to our upcoming Silver Stick Finals in January!!
