IKO is a pioneer and leader in the global roofing and related products industry. The company was founded in 1951. It first manufactured building paper and then expanded to include coated roll roofing. Its first asphalt shingle was made in 1954, and the rest, as they say, is history. The company thrived and grew, first establishing itself in eastern Canada with the opening of the Brampton, Ontario, shingle plant in 1959. Success in Brampton led to further expansion, next into the European market with the construction of a shingle plant in Ham, Belgium, in 1972. Expansion continued in Canada, with the addition of a new facility in Hawkesbury, Ontario, in 1976. IKO entered the U.S. marketplace in 1979 through various acquisitions and has since expanded its presence by building new plants across North America. The most recent plant to open was in Sylacauga, Alabama and another is currently under construction in Hillsboro, Texas. In all of its plants, IKO implements a program of continuous improvement that includes updating equipment and refining systems and processes in order to maximize efficiency and productivity, reduce waste and enhance performance and safety. ×

The Wicked Tea

was only a young child with my first memory encounter with herbal tea. I remember my mother would always making up pots of camomile tea with honey, usually for when we got sick or on a cold winter night. It was then that I developed the understanding that the tea experience was something you enjoy and share with those around you. That same understanding of tea would later became my mantra for life. The earlier moments of my life weren’t always so great. I had faced a few challenges with my health, work, family and friends. These experiences quickly taught me how much I needed the support from the people around me to get me through it all. All this revolved around a cup of tea usually a black chai (one of my fav's). At night after I put my children to sleep I would pour a cup of tea. It was my time. The moments I gained from drinking tea began to again remind me of the joys found in simple pleasures. WICKED Tea Company is about you. Its your moment. Enjoy it! With this philosophy I was inspired to create a way to refocus my life and create something that allowed me to share what I enjoyed most. Since 1955 The International Bakery was started in 1955 by Pasquale Orsini (1919 – 2005), his son, Joe Orsini, has been president since 1990, and most recently the third generation, including Joe’s son, Joe Jr., and son-in-law, Bruno, is slowly taking over the management of the family business. We are a wholesale bakery capable of accommodating any size order. Our customers range in size from the biggest grocery store chains to the smallest upscale restaurants in town. International Bakery breads can be found in many of the grocery store chains in London, Strathroy and Sarnia such as Food Basics, No Frills and Metro as well as our retail locations. ×
