Submitted By Kevin Gardner on Tue 10 15, 13

The Program:

The London Junior Knights feel the most effective way to help develop the skills of players in our organization is to provide them with a consistent program working on individual skills. This is best accomplished when players are training with players of similar talent levels and or age.

The Program:

The London Junior Knights feel the most effective way to help develop the skills of players in our organization is to provide them with a consistent program working on individual skills. This is best accomplished when players are training with players of similar talent levels and or age.

The London Junior Knights are pleased to facilitate the Junior/Junior Knights Novice development program. We are targeting 30 Novice aged players that have aspirations of playing in the Junior Knights program for the 2013/14 season. The program will give the registered participants a glimpse of what is to be a Junior Knight! It will also give our coaches an opportunity to see a large number of Novice players before our April tryouts.

Pro-Tips Sports will facilitate the on ice portion of this program along with some of our coaches at the younger age groups.

On average Forest City competitive novice teams has 2 hours of practice time per week. Often the majority of practice time is allocated to team systems and tactical instruction. The ratio of skill development to tactical and positional instruction is often skewed.

Productive skill development ratios should be in the following range:

• Novice / Atom: 80/10/10 (skill development / tactical / positional)
• Peewee / Bantam / Midget: 60/20/20 (skill development / tactical / positional)
• Junior: 40/30/30

To help supplement the skill development ratio we will offer competitive novice players (20) 1 hour sessions throughout the season.

Staff:
Pro-Tips Sports certified instructors including; John Caldarozzi, Rob Crowther, Jim Sandlak, Andy Forcey, and Kelly Thomson in conjunction with London Junior Knight’s coaches. We will also have guest instructors from the London Knights.

$400 HST incl. Program includes professional instruction, insurance coverage and Junior Knights practice jersey. There will be a maximum of 30 participants.

Section #4 Game specific drills, 1on1/2on1/3on2
