International Silver Stick Regionals Champions

The LJK U18AA Green team travelled to Stratford to participate in the International Silver Stick Regional Tournament.  Up against stiff competition and battling injuries, the team fought hard every game, pushing themselves past their limits and working as a team in order to achieve their goal of International Silver Stick Regional Champions.

The Knights worked hard as a team all weekend playing through injuries, double and triple shifting, goalies playing at their best and players stepping up to cover positions they don't normally play. Every player showed true grit and character as we played with as little as 10-12 skaters throughout.

The Knights made it through the round robin as the first seed with a 2-0-1 record.  With a hard-fought semi final win Saturday night against the Ontario #8 seeded Oakville Rangers, the Knights headed into the finals Sunday afternoon against the formidable Ontario #11 seeded Milton Jr. Menace.  Down 1-0 early in the first, the boys challenged themselves and each other to be better, to step up and face stiff and relentless competition.  The Knights came out in the second ready to face the challenge, scoring early and holding the Menace back.  The third period saw the Knights push even harder, scoring two late and successive goals and continuing to hold back the Menace for the last 5 minutes of the period, at times playing 6 on 4 hockey. In the end, the Knights came out with a 3-1 victory to secure their place in the International Silver Stick Finals.

Catch the players in action January 17 - 19, 2025, in Sarnia at the International Silver Stick Finals.
